Social & Environmental Justice Canvas Course - The creation of a canvas course on the intersections of social and environmental justice for independent learning by staff, Faculty, and Students. LED BY coordinator Hester Aw with support from intern Angelina Ramirez Peirano. Additional Support From Advisor Katie Koscielak, coordinator Amber Chung, coordinator Dev Fields, and SJEIC representative Alexis Dias.
WEIGH THE WASTE - a group effort to spread awareness about food waste and to encourage reduction among individuals trhough behavior change. Weigh the waste events happen every other week on Thursdays.
Ecoreps - Development of a new EcoReps program with housing for implementation in Fall 2022. This project is led by Coordinator Rose Johnasen with intern Amanda Kornuc and is being developed in partnership with Resident Sustainability Advisor for Housing Jymanii Williams.
Green Workplace Assessment - Led by coordinator Hester Aw, the team is revamping a program to consult and audit employee offices and departments after a two year pause due to Covid-19. Interns working on this project are Avery Tunnicliff and Kaylin Jebaili.
Newsletter - The Sustainability Newsletter is an monthly update of sustainability things happeing around campus. The newsletter is written by coordinator Dev Fields and edited by coordinator amber chung and advisor katie koscielak. Various other campus groups frequently collaborate on the creation of each newsletter.
Analysis of custodial products - Team Lead Amber chung is evaluating green certified floor wax products for the campus and analyzing other custodial products that cal poly humboldt could transition to using in an effort to advance the campus AASHE STARS rating.
Workshop - PG&E Bill Trends: Control your participation in the Electricity market - Data analysis coordinator Karly Johnson is developing a workshop to help students navigate and become empowered when navigating their PG&E bills and data. This workshop was piloted in the Social justice summit and we hope to present it again in the future for additional campus audiences.
Campus utility data organization - Coordinator Karly Johnson is working with campus energy manager, anderea alstone, to transfer and organize utility data into new energy management softwares, dashboards, and portals. This is an ongoing project related to the installation of building level meters.
Edible Plant Giveaway - in collaboration with El centro, CCAT, and Wrrap, coordinator dev fields is working to grow edible plant starts for a giveaway as a part of a campus food summit funded by heif.
Stars: AC-9 Research & scholarship and EN-14 Participation in Public Policy - Coordiantor Karly Johnson is assisting advisor (campus sustainability analyst Katie koscielak) with the analysis and compilation of data needed for these stars credits.
Stars: EN-7 Employee educators program - coordinator hester aw is assisting advisor (CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY ANALYST KATIE KOSCIELAK) with the creation of a employee peer educators program to satisfy the criteria of stars for EN-7.
