The "Power Down Task Force" are a group of Green Campus volunteers who actively Power Down on-campus during designated hours on Power Down Wednesdays, the first Wednesday of every month, to make a concerted effort to reduce the use of unnecessary electricity and spread awareness that the event is going on. Examples of Power Down actions are turning off lights in empty communal areas, and turning off unused desktop monitors in computer labs.
Email us at [email protected] if you're interested in joining the Power Down Task Force! We work in 1-2 hour shifts on Power Down Wednesdays roaming campus, powering down buildings, and having lots of fun as we go. If you take action to save energy on a Power Down Wednesday (or on any other day), take a photo, post it to Instagram and tag @greencampus_hsu, or email it to [email protected] to be featured on our Instagram page!
