Spring Trashion Show 2022
The principle behind this event is to foster community around the concepts of sustainability, upcycling, and zero waste through an event that's fun for everyone! We want to encourage participants to keep these principles in the forefront of their minds as they go through the creative process. Aim to not create more waste on purpose for materials to use in the creation of your upcycled fashion! Try to source materials from the waste you and your friends produce usually. You can also check out ROSE house for used office supplies! If you want to see some examples of upcycled outfits from previous years then scroll down this page. You and your friends are also more than welcome to come and participate as an audience member to cheer on the creators and their work!
The Trashion Show will be on Friday April 29th at 7-8pm in the Great Hall! Start creating your outfit! Get updates on Instagram @GreenCampus_Humboldt. There will be five $25 gift card prizes awarded to participants voted on by the audience. Sign up at https://forms.gle/8zKTdyGjXooZc7nu9

Spring 2020 Trashion Show
Come and be a part of the Green Campus Trashion Show! A Trashion Show is where students dress up using trash or other reclaimed items to design a new outfit. The message of this event is to continue to find value of items after their initial purpose to reduce waste in a fun and fashionable way. This event is open to every group and person here on campus. Come to this event and watch as people strut their stuff down the runway or cheer on their reclaimed outfits from the crowd. Before this event was hosted annually, but after its major success during the 2018 Earth Week we now host it bi-annually. So, start working on your outfits and look for our flyers throughout the semester!

Contestant #2: Katherine Hardaker--
I began collecting wrappers months ago to send to terracycle while waiting to be taken off their waitlist. Some of them came from friends who knew I was collecting them, and some of them were mine. However, terracycle has closed its wrapper recycling program and the wrappers are now part of this dress, a piece I call "Convenience". I intend to keep the dress as a statement about single-use plastics.
Contestant #3: Megan Moore ---My inspiration was all the cans we have at my parents house. My submission is in honor of all the highschool seniors out there who can't go to prom. In Covid times, you must adjust your expectations and persist! ✊ For my inner high school senior, that meant not wearing a real prom dress and instead decreasing my carbon footprint and making one out of cans. The second photo is a spin because, how can you not do a spin in a full length can dress? And who knows, maybe aluminum is the fashion statement of the future?
Fall 2019 Trashion Show
